About Us

Where It All Began

Treasure State Seed, Inc. was established in 1979 by Don and Laurie Becker out of their home and a rented Quonset. We have since grown from a home-based office and rented warehouse to over 10,000 square feet of warehouse and 200,000 bushels of grain storage.

Who We Are

Don holds Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Agronomy from Montana State University. He started his career as a County Agricultural Agent and spent 5 years in the seed business prior to establishing Treasure State Seed. In 2003 Don’s son Chad, began working at Treasure State Seed after earning his degree in Business from Montana State University. At that time the grass warehouse and blending facility was at the original office on the West side of Fairfield and the Seed Conditioning Plant was on the main highway running through Fairfield. Seeing the need to streamline and increase efficiency, we added an additional warehouse and remodeled the offices at the Seed Conditioning Plant and all operations were moved to that location. The staff at Treasure State Seed is dedicated to providing quality seed, seed conditioning and personal service to our customers, including technical assistance on variety selection, seeding and other agronomic issues.
