Is the first Wheat Stem Sawfly tolerant Clearfield Plus Spring wheat in Montana. This recently released Hard Red Spring variety combines a solid stem with medium- early maturity for very good Yield and Protein potential. This variety performs well on both Irrigated and Dryland acres.

DUCLAIR

A Hard Red Spring Wheat released by MSU in 2011. It is a solid-stem variety that was crossed with Choteau. It is primarily used on dryland acres due to it’s good standability under wheat stem sawfly pressure. It exhibits acceptable protein and milling and baking qualities. It is an inch taller and one day earlier than Choteau, making it easier to harvest under dryland conditions. Duclair is resistant to the stem rust varieties in Montanan and shows moderately good resistance to stripe rust.

Dagmar

Dagmar is a semi-solid, high yielding, high protein, early maturing semi-dwarf hard red spring wheat variety released by Montana State University in 2019. Dagmar has performed very well in dryland environments, has excellent end-use quality and good resistance to wheat stem sawfly. Overall a much better option than Duclair due to its increased yield and Lanning resulting from it’s sawfly tolerance. 

WB9668

A high yielding hollow stemmed conventional Spring wheat for Montana. This variety has excellent protein and Yellow Stripe Rust resistance. WB9688 is a medium height and medium maturing variety that should be considered on irrigated and high rainfall acres. It is susceptible to wheat stem sawfly and should not be used on dryland acres.

WB9724CLP

An open stemmed Clearfield Plus SW variety that exhibits excellent irrigated yield potential. A higher yielding variety than the solid stemmed WB9789CLP, WB9724CLP offers excellent standability and protein content as well as very good test weight and milling/baking quality. A great option for areas suitable for WB9668 that require Clearfield Plus technology.

LCS Hammer AX is the first LCS CoAXium hard red spring wheat available to farmers. This high-yielding, early-maturing CoAXium line has medium plant height and delivers superior grassy weed control with balanced protein and good test weight. LCS Hammer AX has intermediate resistance to Fusarium head blight, leaf rust and stem rust.
